A huge thank you to all of the neighbors who have volunteered to open their homes for the tour. Your willingness to show Fort Wayne wonderful examples of the history, craftmanship and beauty of the homes in the Oakdale Neighborhood is very greatly appreciated.

Plus, don’t miss the free lecture by renowned designer Paul Duchscherer on Friday evening, June 27 beginning at 7pm at First Missionary Church, located on the corner of South Wayne and Rudisill. Following the lecture there will be a $35 reception featuring intimate conversation with Mr. Duchscherer at the restoration site of the house at 604 W. Rudisill, plus hors d’ oeuvres and cocktails at the gardens of 526 W. Rudisill.

A bonus for the tour will be speaker Paul Duchscherer, who is no doubt familiar to devotees of HGTV’s “Curb Appeal” or PBS’s “This Old House.” Duchscherer, identified on the internet as interior designer, historian and author, is described as having wide professional experience with both residential and commercial properties. His books include “The Bungalow: America’s Arts & Crafts Home,” “Inside the Bungalow: America’s Arts & Crafts Interior,” and “Victorian Glory in San Francisco and the Bay Area.” Paul’s web biography (www.artisticlicense.org) says that he specializes in period-style projects for historic buildings, including interiors to garden and landscape concepts and new construction projects in period styles.
